Fontana Arte PINECONE small table – transparent, chrome

Pinecone is a suspension and table lamp characterized by a blown glass diffuser, available in the glossy transparent or etched milky white version. The diffuser is produced using the ancient caged blown glass technique: the master glassmaker blows the glass bubble by mouth into a metal cage, which only partially contains its natural expansion. In this way the final product is partly held by the cage and partly escapes from it, creating a play of tension that generates a suspended object in the act of escaping its constraint; the cage is further embellished with a galvanic treatment which enhances its appearance, making it shiny and bright. The transparent version, in particular, allows the observer to read a double level of structure, multiplying the scenographic effect, and the weaving of the metal basket projects a kaleidoscopic play of shadows onto the surrounding surfaces. Conversely, the white version delicately follows the cage and underlines its geometries, generating an elegant and pleasant diffused light. Illuminated by a light source that the end user has the possibility to choose, it is a highly suggestive luminous device with a strong impact both when switched off and when switched on.
