LAMPE CABANON
In 1952, on the shores of the French Riviera, Le Corbusier built “Cabanon”: the absolute archetype of the essentiality of living. A project created according to the Modulor rules a few steps from the sea, a refuge for the architect in the last years of his life. Lampe Cabanon, designed for the microcosm whose name it bears, represents a symbol of architecture, design, production and the essential art of living. A war artefact – a mortar shell holder – found on the French beaches is the basis of a lampshade made with the tracing paper with which the architect worked. A lamp of which there are numerous sketches and projects, which represents a moment of rebirth in the post-war world.
